AmplifyChange welcomes Grethe Petersen as new CEO

Please join us in welcoming Grethe Petersen as the new CEO for AmplifyChange.

Grethe is a proven strategic leader and strong communicator within the sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) sector. Grethe has worked as a partner with AmplifyChange in various ways over the past few years. She shares the common cause of advocating to improve SRHR and supporting grassroots organisations. She has strong experience of grant-making and advocacy as well as fund-raising for gender equality and SRHR.

Narmeen Hamid, Chair of the Board of AmplifyChange said,

“Grethe is the ideal leader for AmplifyChange. After a broad and comprehensive search and selection process, the Board is delighted that Grethe is joining us. We are confident that she is the right person to deliver on the 2021-2025 Strategy.”

Grethe was most recently the CEO of Orchid Project, a non-profit organisation focusing on ending female genital mutilation/cutting. Previously she was Director at the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), and before that held leadership roles within MSI Reproductive Choices.

Grethe added,

“Local organisations are best positioned to bring about better sexual and reproductive health and rights in their communities and countries. I’m humbled to join the brilliant team at AmplifyChange to support those organisations.”
