HIV/AIDS Research and Welfare Centre (HARC) aims to promote and protect the human rights of sex workers, looking particularly at the issues surrounding stigma, discrimination and violence.

HARC looks to create a movement to reform the laws and policies currently limiting the freedom and rights of sex workers.

As a result of this project, over 75 peer workers/peer volunteers have now been trained to work with female sex workers from across various organisations, focusing particularly on SRHR, community empowerment, leadership building and human rights issues.

A group of peer outreach workers from HARC are also now working in Dhaka city on SRHR awareness and services, and a comprehensive violent response project has been developed and implemented in Dhaka city which 300 sex workers are now directly benefitting from.

With HARC’s support, sex workers are now feeling empowered and supported.
