About

The Centre for Disability and Rehabilitation (CDR) is a community based organisation, which aims to ensure that persons with disabilities (PWDs) can enjoy and claim their rights, especially SRHR. It particularly focuses on a parenting approach towards young PWDs, and ensuring that progress is sustainable.

The organisation has a threefold strategy:

1) Build the capacity of parents and children

2) Transform social norms, to promote social acceptance of PWDs

3) Advocating for PWDs

CDR focuses on peer support in inclusive settings with a network for parents of young PWDs. Their objective is to challenge attitudes and beliefs, alongside the provision of additional sexual reproductive information for 100 deaf girls and their parents in Wakiso district.
