Opportunity

About

This project aims at using advocacy and communications to mobilise support for an increased call to abandon female genital mutilation in six key states in Nigeria where there is a high prevalence of this custom.

It focuses on using young people as active change agents and on traditional gatekeepers, as well as circumcisers, the media, religious leaders, policy makers and relevant partners, to sustainably drive the anti-FGM movement.

The project also fosters appropriate linkages with key stakeholders to amplify and make the voice of young people relevant in policy formulation for the abandonment of FGM and other deeply rooted, harmful cultural practices in Nigeria.
