For Type 1 organisations, the applicant must have:

• Appropriate organisational registration in one of AmplifyChange’s eligible countries.
• The applicant organisation must have a bank account.
• The applicant organisation must have transparent governance structures and will be required to submit, as part of your full application, their
  • organisational strategic plan and governance structure;
  • a results or M&E framework of expected results and outcomes (linked to AmplifyChange’s Theory of Change);
  • annual audited accounts for past three years; and
  • a project planning workbook (budget and workplan).
• Audited annual accounts showing that the annual value of the Partnership Grant is not greater than 50% of your organisation’s average annual expenditure over the past three years. For example: if you apply for GBP 900,000 over 3 years, the annual value of the grant is GBP 300,000. Therefore, the average annual expenditure of the applicant organisation over the past three years must be GBP 600,000 or more. Note that it is not possible to combine incomes of more than one organisation.

For Type 2 organisations, the applicant must have:

• A fiscal host agreement in place or at least a clear intention with a host organisation.
• An intention to register in one of AmplifyChange’s eligible countries and a fiscal host registered in one of these countries.
• The fiscal host organisation must have a bank account and be able to move money to the counties you are seeking to work in.
• The applicant organisation must have transparent governance structures in place – you will also be required to show that these are in place for the fiscal host.
• You will be required to submit as part of your full application, the fiscal host’s
  • annual audited accounts for past three years, with a clear ambition to develop your own, eg., including audit costs for both in the budget; and
  • organisational strategic plan and governance structure (fiscal host and applicant where possible).
• In addition, the applicant will be required to submit
  • a results or M&E framework of expected results and outcomes (linked to AmplifyChange’s Theory of Change); and
  • a project planning workbook (budget and workplan).
• The annual value of the Partnership Grant cannot exceed 50% of your fiscal host organisation’s average annual expenditure over the past three years. For example: if you apply for GBP 900,000 over 3 years, the annual value of the grant is GBP 300,000. Therefore, the average annual expenditure of the fiscal host organisation over the past three years must be GBP 600,000 or more. Note that it is not possible to combine incomes of more than one organisation.

AmplifyChange funds advocacy. We are focused on achieving long-term, sustainable change, and we recognise that collective actions are the best way to achieve change. Understanding how you as a grant-maker will connect to the wider SRHR movement and demonstrating how you are working towards the same change is critical.

Partnership Grants aim to maximise direct support for grassroots organisations by avoiding the creation of additional administrative layers that could dilute the funding intended for local impact. We encourage a minimum of 60% of the budget to go to grant-making and the remaining budget to cover the development of grant-making structures and processes, grant management and monitoring, and organisational strengthening, learning and connection-building among the on-granting partners.

We are particularly interested to fund projects that:

• evidence a need for grant-making to smaller grassroots civil society organisations within the SRHR movement in their context;
• can provide organisational strengthening support to smaller grassroots civil society organisations within the SRHR movement;
• provide support to the Partnership grantee partner’s ongoing organisational strengthening (excluding any significant capital or infrastructure expenditure);
• have deep connections with the grassroots organisations you are seeking to support and the ability to provide meaningful movement-wide connections even to smaller grassroot civil society organisations;
• show a strong commitment to SRHR advocacy;
• address gaps in SRHR funding and advocacy, particularly in marginalised and underserved populations;
• articulate their approach to grant-making, outline the processes involved in making grants, and demonstrate how their impact will be measured;
• have a well-articulated sustainability / fundraising plan for continued grant-making;
• have a risk framework and well-articulated mitigation strategies.
